A blonde lady named Tammy enters the famous TV quiz show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?
Regis Philbin puts her at ease, and somehow she flies through the early questions. Before long, she’s sitting on $500,000 with just one lifeline left — Phone a Friend.
Regis says,
“Tammy, you’ve done very well so far — $500,000 and one lifeline left. The next question is for ONE MILLION dollars. But if you get it wrong, you drop back to $32,000. Are you ready?”
Tammy smiles.
“Sure, I’ll have a go!”
Regis reads the question:
“Which of the following birds does not build its own nest?
A — Robin
B — Sparrow
C — Cuckoo
D — Thrush
Remember, Tammy, this is worth one million dollars.”
Tammy hesitates.
“I think I know it… but I’m not 100%. I’d like to phone my best buddy Maggie back home in Birmingham.”
The call connects.
Regis explains the situation, and Tammy quickly reads the question.
Maggie responds without hesitation:
“Oh, Tammy, that’s simple — it’s a Cuckoo.”
“You’re sure?” Tammy asks.
“I’m positive.”
Tammy hangs up.
Regis asks,
“Do you want to walk away with $500,000, or play for the million?”
Tammy says confidently,
“I’ll play. C — Cuckoo.”
“Is that your final answer?”
“It is.”
Regis pauses dramatically…
“Tammy… you are absolutely RIGHT! You’ve just won ONE MILLION DOLLARS!” ![]()

The crowd goes wild.
Later that evening, Tammy takes her blonde bestie Maggie out for celebratory drinks. As they sip champagne, Tammy asks,
“Tell me, Maggie… how on earth did you know it was the Cuckoo?”
Maggie smiles and says,
“Tammy… everybody knows a Cuckoo lives in a clock!”
