A wife told her husband one morning, “Honey, please go to the market and buy some organic vegetables. And make sure they’re fresh!”
Trying to be a good husband, he grabbed a basket and went from stall to stall, carefully checking tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, and lettuce. But no matter how much he looked, he couldn’t find anything clearly labeled “organic.”
After wandering around for a while, he noticed an old, tired-looking employee stacking vegetables in the produce section. The man looked like he had answered the same question a thousand times that day.
The husband picked up a few vegetables, walked over to him, and said very seriously, “Excuse me, sir. These vegetables are for my wife. Can you tell me if they’ve been sprayed with any poisonous chemicals?”
The employee slowly looked at the vegetables, then looked at the husband, sighed, and said:
“No, sir. You’ll have to do that yourself.”
