Three bulls were standing in the pasture one morning when they heard the rancher was bringing in a new bull.
The first bull snorted proudly. “I’ve been here five years. I’ve earned my place, and I’m not giving this newcomer any of my 100 cows.”
The second bull nodded. “Same here. I’ve been here three years, and my 50 cows are staying with me.”
The third bull, smaller and younger, lifted his head. “I’ve only been here one year, and you two only let me have 10 cows. But I worked for them, and I’m keeping every single one.”
Just then, an 18-wheeler rolled into the pasture. The trailer doors opened, and out stepped the biggest bull any of them had ever seen. He weighed nearly 4,700 pounds, and every step made the steel ramp groan.
The first bull swallowed hard. “You know… I suppose I could spare a few cows.”
The second bull quickly added, “Honestly, I’ve got too many anyway. No need for trouble.”
Then they looked at the little third bull.
He was pawing the dirt, shaking his horns, snorting, and kicking up dust.
The first bull whispered, “Son, don’t be stupid. Give him your cows and stay alive.”
The little bull kept snorting and said:
“He can have all my cows. I’m just making sure he knows I’m a bull!”
