A blonde woman came home after her very first day commuting by train into the city.
As soon as she walked through the door, her husband noticed she looked pale and exhausted.
“Honey,” he asked, concerned, “are you feeling all right?”
She dropped her bag by the door and sighed. “Not really. I feel awful.”
“What happened?” he asked.
She rubbed her forehead and said, “I got terribly nauseous on the train. I had to sit backward the whole way, and it made me sick.”
Her husband gave her a sympathetic look.
“Oh, poor thing,” he said. “But why didn’t you just ask the person sitting across from you to switch seats for a while?”
She looked at him as if the answer should have been obvious.
“I couldn’t,” she replied.
He frowned. “Why not?”
She said:
“Because there was no one sitting there.”
