At dinner, with his parents’ friends, little Johnny was asked to lead the prayer.
“But I don’t know how to pray,” he replied.
His father said. “Just pray for your family, our friends who have been kind enough to visit us this evening, and the poor and unfortunate.”
“Okay,” Johnny replied, blessed himself, and began,
“Dear Lord, thank you for our visitors this evening and their children, who this afternoon finished all my cookies and ice cream. Bless them so they won’t come again.
Also, Lord, as soon as you can, as it’s pretty cold right now, please send some clothes to all those poor ladies on my Daddy’s computer who do not have any.
Also, could you provide shelter for the unfortunate homeless man who uses Mom’s room when Daddy is at work? AMEN.”
