Emma sent her father a cheerful message one afternoon.
“Hi Dad! Guess what? I’m getting married soon, so you might want to start preparing your wallet.”
Her father stared at the screen, surprised, and kept reading.
“My fiancé and I met online. At first, we just liked each other’s posts on Facebook. Then we started chatting every day on WhatsApp. Before long, we became best friends.”
She continued, “After that, we spent hours on video calls, talking about life, dreams, and everything in between. Then, one night, during a romantic Zoom call, he proposed to me.”
Her father raised an eyebrow.
Emma’s message went on: “It’s been two wonderful months, and I just know he’s the one. All I need now is your blessing… and maybe a little help with the wedding expenses.”
A few minutes later, her father replied.
“Wow, sweetheart. That’s definitely a modern love story.”
Then he added, “Here’s my advice: have the wedding ceremony on Zoom, the honeymoon on Google Meet, and post all the photos on Instagram.”
Emma frowned as she read the final line.
“And if things ever go badly… just list him on eBay.”
